The Paterson Diocese celebrated with Kerry Alys Robinson, president and CEO of Catholic Charities USA, on Dec. 3 when she received the prestigious Spirit of Francis Award on Dec. 3 at the 10th Annual Spirit of Francis New York Award Dinner.
Robinson, a renowned leader in Catholic leadership and philanthropy, made history in 2023 by becoming the second woman to guide the Catholic Church’s domestic humanitarian efforts in the United States.
Kevin J. Sweeney attended the dinner with several other Paterson Diocesan representatives. They included Scott Milliken, Catholic Charities’ CEO, and his wife, Mary; Sole Anselmi, Catholic Charities’ board member, and her husband, Andrew, chair of the Board of Regents at Delbarton School in Morristown and vice chair of the National Catholic Community Foundation; Hazel Yaptangco, Catholic Charities’ development director; Father Paul Manning, diocesan vicar for evangelization; Christopher Brancato, chief development officer of Catholic Guardian Services and former Catholic Charities’ development director; Angelo Sansano, who serves on the board of St. Paul Inside the Walls in Madison and is chairman of the Board of Trustees at Assumption College for Sisters in Denville; and Tom Galfo, who has volunteered of many years with the Department for Persons with Disabilities and Catholic Charities.
The Catholic Extension Society hosted the dinner, which benefits women’s leadership and ministry in the Church.
