Sussex County Knights’ beefsteak fundraiser exceeds goals

On Oct. 24, the Knights of Columbus Marquette Council 588 hosted their annual beefsteak dinner at Rev. George A. Brown Elementary School in Sparta, N.J. More than 200 parishioners, family members, friends, and community partners gathered in McKenna Hall for an evening of fellowship, unity, and goodwill. The knights wish to recognize the generosity of all who contributed to and attended the event, which exceeded its fundraising goals.

Proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships, the 50/50 raffle, and tricky tray fund the council’s charitable activities throughout the fraternal year. These contributions empower the knights to serve their three parishes, while extending outreach across local, state, and national efforts — putting into action the commandments to love God and love our neighbors.

For more than 125 years, Council 588 has faithfully served the local Catholic communities of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Sparta, N.J., St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Ogdensburg, N.J., and Immaculate Conception Parish in Franklin, N.J. To learn more or get involved, visit their website.
