Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney installed Msgr. George Hundt in Paterson and Father Manuel Cuellar as its parochial vicar on June 8, during a Mass in English and Spanish. Parishioners, members of the parish school, family, and friends filled the church. Family and repre-sentatives of religious groups, committees, and staff participated in the liturgy. Msgr. Hundt and Father Cuellar were assigned to St. Gerard’s on July 1, 2023, following the departure of Vocationist priests and sisters, members of the Society of Divine Vocations. The religious order served the ethnically diverse faith community for 15 years prior. Last summer, it handed the administration of St. Gerard’s back to the Paterson Diocese. Msgr. Hundt first served as the parish’s pastor from 1995 to 2002.
