Joyful bishop administers confirmation, blesses altar servers in Dover

Sacred Heart and Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Parish in Dover on June 28 welcomed Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney, who celebrated a bilingual patronal Mass for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which the Church observed the previous day.

During the Mass, Bishop Sweeney blessed six new altar servers of the parish, who were vested in their cassocks, and administered the sacrament of confirmation on Nicholas Gabriel Negron. Musicians of the parish greeted the bishop with faith-filled music outside the church on his arrival before the 6 p.m. Mass.

Father Cerilo Javinez, parochial vicar of the parish, played organ for the liturgy.
