Volunteers from Columbia Bank made their annual visit to Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD), part of Catholic Charities of the Paterson Diocese in New Jersey, from Nov. 20 to 21, as part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to partner with local social service agencies. The visits, part of Columbia Bank’s Week of Giving program, are designed to provide opportunities for employees to volunteer their time to give back to their communities. The employees visited DPD’s Wehrlen House in West Milford, N.J., and Barnet House in Pompton Lakes, N.J., where they met with staff, baked pies with the residents, composed cards of gratitude for family and friends and shared a meal while getting acquainted with staff and residents of both facilities. The DPD looks forward to continuing its community partnership with Columbia Bank and to future visits by the volunteers.
