Annual golf outing remembers former pastor’s commitment to Pequannock school

Holy Spirit School in Pequannock on Oct. 17 held its 29th annual Msgr. McQuaid Golf Outing at the Black Bear Golf Club in Franklin.

The fundraising event honored Father Edward Lambro, a retired priest of the Paterson Diocese who has served the Holy Spirit community for 40 years, and the Codiroli family, which has been generous with the community for many years.

The golf outing is named after Msgr. Eugene B. McQuaid, pastor of Holy Spirit Parish from 1966 to his retirement in 1994, who enjoyed golf. According to Holy Spirit, the event recognizes “his many accomplishments while in ministry at Holy Spirit and his total dedication to the support of the parish school.”

Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney and Father Stephen Prisk, Holy Spirit’s pastor and diocesan vice chancellor, were among the golfers who competed during the outing. Filippini Sister Marie Antonelli, Holy Spirit principal, also attended the event.

All proceeds benefit Holy Spirit’s students.
