Vets honored for sacrifices during prayer service

The Academy of St. Elizabeth in the Convent Station neighborhood of Morris Township recently honored several veterans from across the U.S. military within the school’s community and local parishes during its Veterans Day Prayer Service in Holy Family Chapel.

The St. Elizabeth’s community thanked the veteran guests for their courage and sacrifice in service to the country.

The academy expressed gratitude to the following veterans: Adam Festa, U.S. Army, relative of Lauren Zembilis ‘27; Tony DiCarlo and Robert Kunz, U.S. Army, relatives of Caroline DiCarlo ‘28; Eugene Desimone, U.S. Army, relative of Giovanna Desimone ‘26; Robert Charles Anderson, U.S. Navy, relative of Alexandra Knight ‘26 and Charlotte Knight ‘24; Christopher Muir, U.S. Navy, relative of Emily Muir ‘26 and Julia Muir ‘22; Heather Sweetman, U.S. Coast Guard, academy faculty member; and Father T. Kevin Corcoran, U.S. Air Force, pastor of Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham Township.

The academy choir, led by Alexandra Carroll, performed the service anthems of each U.S. military branch. Each veteran stood proudly before the academy com-munity as their branch’s anthem was played.
