Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney visited St. Patrick School in Chatham on Jan. 29 and learned more about its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program during Catholic Schools Week.
St. Patrick’s students demonstrated many of their projects for the bishop in their classrooms. For the tour, Dr. Christine Ross, principal, led Bishop Sweeney; Father Robert Mitchell, pastor of St. Patrick Parish; and Father Chris Han, St. Patrick’s parochial vicar.
The school’s website states, “The community of St. Patrick School, grounded in our Catholic values, facilitates the investigative integration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Our STEM education promotes the common good and empowers our students to be critical thinkers who are creative, collaborative, and morally responsible contributors to the advancement of the global community to build the future while honoring our past.”
