Assumption College for Sisters (ACS) in Denville, will open its 2024-2025 academic year with orientation on Friday, Aug. 23. Classes begin on Aug. 26.
The Sisters of Christian Charity founded ACS in 1953 and sponsor the college.
ACS students represent a variety of countries, including Burundi, Cameroon, Indonesia, Tanzania, Zambia, and Vietnam, as well as students from various states in the USA. Lay students also attend the college. Twenty international sister students reside at the college.
The following religious communities comprise the ACS’ student body: Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians, Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth, Sisters of St. Therese, Franciscan Sisters of St. Bernadette, Daughters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Lovers of the Holy Cross of Thu Thiem, Lovers of the Holy Cross of Go Vap, Lovers of the Holy Cross of Vinh, Missionary Benedictine Sisters, Benedictine Sisters, Monastery of Our Lady of the Desert, Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Africa, Holy Spirit Sisters, Congregation of Mary, Queen of Peace, Sisters of the Province of Portieux.
The administration, faculty, staff, and students are preparing for an on-site evaluation of ACS by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in 2025.
Orientation day will include a Mass for all ACS members celebrated in the college’s chapel.
