The Salesian Sisters of St. Don Bosco welcomed a special guest last week with the visit of Mother Chiara Cazzuola, superior general of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, also known as the Salesian Sisters, who traveled from Rome last week.
On Sept. 23, Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney celebrated Mass in St. Joseph’s Chapel at the motherhouse of the Salesian Sisters in North Haledon to mark the visit where sisters of the order attended.
Mother Chiara, the 10th successor to St. Mary Mazzarello, co-founder of the Salesian Sisters, was making a short visit to New Jersey before traveling to Canada to meet with the sisters there, completing her visit to the St. Joseph Province.
