Bishop commissions new extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion at Mary Help of Christians Academy

The community of Mary Help of Christians Academy in North Haledon gathered on Sept. 24 for a Mass of the Holy Spirit with Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney in St. Joseph Chapel — the first liturgy of the school year.

Bishop Sweeney celebrated the Mass and commissioned new extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.

In his homily, Bishop Sweeney shared some of the “beautiful testimony” Mother Olga of the Sacred Heart gave at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in July in Indianapolis, Ind. The bishop attended the congress with a contingent from the Paterson Diocese.
