Pequannock BOLD youth ministry celebrates school year start

Students in grades 7 to 12 celebrated the start of the school year with Becoming Our Lord’s Disciples (BOLD) Youth Min-istry at Holy Spirit Parish in Pequan-nock during a Color-Run-themed kickoff on Sept. 27.

During the event, the parish welcomed Chris Chalmers, its new youth minister and confirmation coordinator.

The kickoff featured food, music, lawn games, fellowship, and colorful fun. Ministry members wrote prayer intentions on index cards and put them in a receptacle to burn.

Not pictured are the youth members in prayer as the smoke rises and symbolically carries their prayers heavenward. Also, Father Stephen Prisk, Holy Spirit’s pastor and vice-chancellor of the Pater-son Diocese, and Filippini Sister Shiree Tremont, dean of student life and an eighth-grade homeroom teacher at Holy Spirit School, are shown playing cornhole.
