St. James of the Marches Parish in Totowa, N.J., will host an organ dedication concert featuring the world-renowned maestro Hector Olivera on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. at the parish.
The afternoon concert marks the official public unveiling and blessing of the church’s newly installed Rodgers organ.
Born in Buenos Aires in Argentina, Hector Olivera is a globally recognized musician who has performed in the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. His performance in Totowa offers local residents an up-close encounter with a living legend of the classical and sacred music worlds.
“We are incredibly blessed to welcome a musician of Maestro Olivera’s caliber to our community,” said Father Marc Mancini, pastor. “This concert is not just a celebration of a beautiful instrument, but a gift of world-class music and art to our entire community.”
Doors open at 3 p.m. Seating is limited and free ticket registration is required in advance. A free-will donation will be collected following the concert to support the parish music ministry.
