Mass ends Hardyston parish’s 40 hours of Eucharistic devotion

St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Hardyston concluded its “Forty Hours Devotion” on Nov. 3 with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney. During the devotion, the parish offered the faithful “one-on-one” time with the Lord in Eucharistic adoration from Oct. 26 to Nov. 3.

Solemn vespers, a procession, and Benediction followed Mass. Father Michael Rodak, St. Jude’s pastor and director of pilgrimages for the Paterson Diocese, concelebrated the Mass with Bishop Sweeney. Deacon James Jones assisted with the liturgy.

Instead of the traditional three-day event that occurs for 40 nonstop hours, St. Jude’s scheduled exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at varying times over eight days. It provided participants with opportunities for prayer in adoration, even with demanding schedules. This was the seventh year St. Jude’s offered “Forty Hours Devotion.”
