Love and leadership celebrated at Madison evangelization center

On June 6, St. Paul Inside the Walls in Madison honored its current and past ministers to young adults (ages from 23 to 39) to celebrate the Paterson Diocesan evangelization center’s 15th anniversary at its Fourth Annual Garden Party. The event also marked the Jubilee of Hope 2025, a celebration now observed by the Universal Church.

The weather held out for the outdoor Garden Party, which was a fundraiser for St. Paul’s, a leader, catalyst, and model for the new evangelization. Through both traditional and innovative programs, the center has inspired people of all ages, beliefs, cultures, perspectives, and professions to experience the Catholic faith fully. The Garden Party celebrated St. Paul’s lasting impact and growth around the diocese and beyond.

St. Paul’s honored the young adult coordinators by including them on a plaque to be displayed in the center. They are Kathleen FitzPatrick Stover and Derek Gazal (2009-10), Kelly Helfrich (2010-13), Trevor Jones (2010-16), Monique MacKinnon (2013-17), Dan Ferrari (2016-20), Stacy Nolan (2017-23), and current coordinators, Chris Caulfield and Annamaria Garcia.

Each coordinator received a print of Christ on the Cross by MacKinnon, an artist and founder of Epiphania Studio, which creates Christian art. She gifted a larger print of the image for display in St. Paul’s.

The event’s 125 attendees included staff from St. Paul’s, members of the Young Adult Ministry, benefactors, and friends and family of community members. Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney and Father Paul Manning, the diocesan vicar for evangelization and education, delivered separate addresses on St. Paul’s. The event included a dinner.
