The Paterson Diocese Federation Knights of Columbus held its annual Pride in Our Priests dinner at Hanover Manor in East Hanover, N.J., on Nov. 24.
Traditionally, every November, the Paterson Federation encourages all its member councils of the Paterson Diocese in New Jersey to invite priests from their parishes to attend a dinner in their honor, thanking them for their service to the Church, the diocese, their parish, and the community.

That evening, Father Michael Parisi, diocesan vicar general and pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Mountain Lakes, N.J., represented Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney in joining the federation to honor the priests at the dinner. This year, Bishop Sweeney was unable to attend because he was traveling to Ireland for services for his uncle, Brenden Blewitt, who had died.
Bishop Emeritus Paul Bootkoski of the Metuchen Diocese in New Jersey, the knights’ state chaplain, and Bishop Kurt Burnette of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic also attended the dinner.
