Jender Medina Palencia, a Paterson Diocesan seminarian, will be ordained by Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney to the transitional diaconate on Saturday, June 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in the Haskell neighborhood of Wanaque. It will be Medina’s final step before being called to be ordained as a diocesan priest next year.
Well-wishers — including family, friends, priests, and religious of the diocese, members of the parishes where the transitional deacons have served, and diocesan faithful — are invited to attend the ordination to offer their support for Medina’s new ministry.
