Holy Spirit School sixth graders present inspiring Living Stations of the Cross

On Friday, Feb. 27, Holy Spirit Church in Pequannock, N.J., was filled with faithful gathered in silent prayer as the sixth-grade religion class of Holy Spirit School presented the Living Stations of the Cross.

One of the most powerful moments of the evening occurred when Veronica wiped Jesus’ face. As she lifted a cloth bearing Jesus’ image, the church remained in profound silence, capturing the compassion and courage of the moment. Equally moving was the scene of Jesus falling beneath the weight of the cross, powerfully conveying both physical exhaustion and steadfast resolve.

Throughout the presentation, the students’ expressions reflected deep understanding — solemn, compassionate, and reverent at every moment. By portraying sorrow, endurance, and faith, they revealed weeks of thoughtful preparation.

Serving as a meaningful reminder of the importance of faith formation and student leadership at Holy Spirit School, the Living Stations of the Cross touched all in attendance. As the parish continues its Lenten observance, the sixth graders’ prayerful witness will remain a memorable and grace-filled highlight for the Holy Spirit community.
