As part of the Lodi Felician Associate Outreach Program, Felician Associates Lori Palmieri, Janet Gurdak, and Joan Tabor, accompanied by Spiritual Minister Sister Marie Alexander, paid a visit to the Passaic Animal Shelter in Passaic, N.J., on June 12. The associates were greeted by DeAndre Boatwright, supervising animal control officer for the shelter.
The sisters donated blankets, pillows, sheets, and other much-needed items and also cleaned out the rooms of the Mother Angela Wing, which is set to be demolished. After a tour of the facility, the sisters visited with the staff, discussing animal welfare and the importance of community support.
The shelter staff expressed gratitude for the kindness and generosity of everyone who supports the animals and expressed their appreciation for the support of the Felician Sisters and Associates.
The Lodi Felician Associate program enables lay men and women to partner with the Felician Sisters in their mission of service, prayer, and community outreach. Based at the Lodi, N.J. campus, associates are volunteers who support the sisters’ ministries while maintaining their everyday work and family lives.
