A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, March 31, for Father Gregory Drogon, a retired priest of the Paterson Diocese in New Jersey who died on March 25 in Toms River, N.J. He was 76.
Father Drogan’s family asks only to be remembered in people’s prayers.
A native of Bayonne, N.J., Father Drogon was ordained in 1982, serving as a Capuchin Friar. He was incardinated in the Paterson Diocese in 1988.

In the diocese, Father Drogon was parochial vicar of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in Morristown, N.J., and a weekend assistant at St. Michael Parish in Paterson, N.J. He also served St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, N.J. Father Drogon was a chaplain, director of pastoral care and director of spirituality and worship at Straight & Narrow, an agency of diocesan Catholic Charities in Paterson.
The faithful are asked to keep Father Drogon; his sister, Felician Sister Monica Drogon; his brothers, Thomas and Raymond; all of the Drogon family and friends; and all of the priests of the Paterson Diocese, in their prayers, especially at the Eucharist.
