Father English food pantry distributes turkeys to people in need for Thanksgiving

Two days before Thanksgiving, Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney helped distribute turkeys to needy individuals and families on Nov. 26 at the temporary site of the Father English Food Pantry in Paterson.

Clients also received two bags of groceries with ingredients for some of their favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. Catholic Charities of the Paterson Diocese has distributed almost 4,000 Thanksgiving turkeys with groceries throughout November.

Joining Bishop Sweeney were Scott Milliken, Catholic Charities CEO; Joseph Murray, executive director of Catholic Family and Community Services of Catholic Charities; Carlos Roldan, Catholic Charities food pantry director; and Ken Morris, vice president of external affairs for St. Joseph’s Health.

Part of CFCS, Father English food pantry has been temporarily located at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center at 35 Getty Avenue in Paterson. The pantry’s facility on Main Street is undergoing major renovations.
