Faithful at monthly Morristown procession: ‘Choose Life’ for unborn

On April 11 at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Morristown, N.J., parishioners from the Paterson Diocese reasserted their commitment to the dignity of every human life — from conception to natural death — during the Monthly Mass and Procession for Life with Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney.

Bishop Sweeney celebrated the Mass. Father Duberney Villamizar, pastor of St. Margaret’s, and Father Ruben Dario Castillo, a retired priest, concelebrated the liturgy, which Deacon Tim Holden of St. Margaret’s assisted.

After the Mass, Bishop Sweeney processed with the faithful down Speedwell Avenue in a rosary procession to Planned Parenthood. The bishop led them in prayer in front of the facility for an end to abortion. Many carried signs with pro-life messages, such as “Love Life. Choose Life.” The marchers then returned to St. Margaret’s to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.

Everyone is welcome to join the Mass and Procession for Life with Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney, which takes place on the first Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. at St. Margaret’s.
