The Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Lakes Council #3359, recently presented Sophie Stewart with a $1,200 donation to support her mission with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), a Catholic lay apostolate dedicated to helping college students grow in their faith.
FOCUS missionaries serve on college campuses, building relationships with students through Bible studies, mentorship, conferences, retreats, mission trips, and partnerships with priests, bishops, and parishes. Their goal is to walk alongside young people as they grow in their relationship with Christ and prepare them to live and share their faith throughout their lives.
Sophie has recently moved to New York City to begin her ministry with students at New York University (NYU). She will be working to reach young Catholics at an important time in their faith journey, as many young adults leave the practice of their faith during their college years.
Our Lady of the Lakes Council #3359 is proud to support Sophie and the important work she will be doing with students at NYU. Supporting young people in their Catholic faith is central to our council’s commitment to serving the Church and our community.
