Faithful from Assumption Parish in Morristown gathered on Sept. 28 to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis a few days early with the Blessing of the Animals. These creatures included cats, dogs, guinea pigs, a chicken named Daisy, and a duck named Lily.
Father Krzysztof Tyszko, Assumption’s parochial vicar, held the blessing outdoors despite the weather. Children and graduates of the Cate-chesis of the Good Shepherd program Level III participated in the event. They prepared gifts for parishioners, pets, and guests with their pets.
The Church celebrates the Feast of St. Francis on Oct. 4.
