Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney participated in the 53rd Annual March for Life and celebrated several pro-life Masses in Washington, D.C. from Jan. 22 to 23.
From the Bishop:
Our country is blessed today by the loving witness of all those participating in the National March for Life in Washington, DC.
I’m blessed to be with a great group from our Diocese of Paterson and to have been able to celebrate Mass at St. Patrick Church in Washington, D.C., in the morning with the Order of Malta and then at St. Peter Church on Capitol Hill prior to March. I mentioned in my homily the wonderful Book & Spiritual Classic recommended by Pope Leo XIV: “The Practice of the Presence of God” by Br. Lawrence of the Resurrection.
For traveling home from the March — or if you get “snowed in” on Sunday — please take the time to (watch and) listen to Bishop James Conley’s powerful homily from last night’s Mass beginning the National Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
