Bishop celebrates St. Pat’s in NYC with Mass, parade

On March 17, Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney concelebrated a Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, marking the Feast of St. Patrick, which was celebrated by New York Archbishop Ronald Hicks. The bishop also attended the 265th annual parade for the Irish saint along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan after the liturgy.

Bishop Sweeney, whose parents immigrated from Ireland, shared on social media, “It was a glorious day in NYC!! Archbishop Hicks gave a beautiful homily at his first St. Patrick’s Day Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. The parade was celebrated with great excitement moving up Fifth Avenue.”
