The Catholic Academy of Sussex County on Oct. 8 welcomed Bishop Kevin Sweeney, who celebrated Mass at Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta. In his homily, Bishop Sweeney highlighted the importance of prayer and service as Christians, especially regarding Hurricane Helene relief. Attending the Mass were academy students, staff, faculty, clergy, parents, graduates, and communities from St. Therese School in the Succasunna neighborhood of Roxbury Township and Divine Mercy Academy in Rockaway. The Catholic Academy of Sussex County consists of Pope John High School, Pope John XXIII Middle School, and Rev. George A. Brown Memorial School, all in Sparta.
