Dr. Peter Kilpatrick, the president of The Catholic University of America, joins Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney to discuss the challenges of leading a Catholic university in an increasingly secularized culture. Born a Methodist, he also talks about his faith journey, which led him to become Catholic after becoming a father. Kilpatrick discusses his diverse career path which wound through Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Notre Dame. He holds or shares 12 patents in chemical engineering and said the awe-inspiring scientific discoveries of the last 50 to 100 years lead us to God.

Kilpatrick is the 16th president of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He was in the diocese to lead a special event titled, “The Future of Partnerships Between Catholic and Secondary Higher Education: Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders for the Church and the World.”
