Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney of the Paterson Diocese in New Jersey explores the season of Advent and the topic “Why Family Is Essential” on a new episode of “Let Go And Let God,” a weekly radio show geared to people who are struggling with their Catholic faith, have doubts, or want to strengthen their faith.
Launched in 2021, “Let Go And Let God” offers listeners weekly 30-minute episodes featuring a range of religious topics, discussions, guest interviews, and inspirational stories and music. Art Suriano of Newton, N.J., the show’s creator, host, and producer, interviews a wide variety of guests, who cover different topical issues. He includes performances of his original Christian contemporary songs to further illuminate the episode’s theme.
Locally, “Let Go And Let God” airs every Sunday on WRSK in Sussex at 7 a.m., on WOLD in Edison at 8 a.m. The show airs on 19 radio stations across the United States and is on all the podcast platforms. It is also available to stream here.
“Bishop Sweeney was an engaging guest. We discussed his background and how he became a bishop. He gave his insights about Advent [which begins on Nov. 30] and the importance of the family,” said Suriano, adding that the bishop also spoke about his podcast, Beyond the Beacon.

“Let Go And Let God” will soon gain a considerably broader national reach. A much-anticipated partnership with a major Christian radio network promises to add 178 terrestrial stations to its growing audience, which currently listens on 19 stations.
“‘Let Go And Let God’ is meant to appeal to people who have struggles, doubts, and hopes in life and want to build their faith and relationship with the Lord through prayer,” Suriano said. “We address topics people can relate to, such as jealousy, fear, worry, and trusting Jesus. The episodes are positive, upbeat, and easy to listen to — no judgment or lectures.”
An earlier health crisis Suriano suffered and his struggle with his faith, which led to a renewed belief in Christ, inspired the creation of “Let Go And Let God.” He is currently the music minister at Sacred Heart Parish in North Bergen, N.J.. He is a published Catholic composer, musician, and arranger through WorshipNow.
Notable guests have included Diane Foley, who talked about forgiveness after ISIS in Syria kidnapped and beheaded her journalist son, James. Guests — clergy, religious, and laity alike — share their personal insights on the week’s topic or raise awareness of their causes for numerous concerns.
“Let Go And Let God” has featured other notable diocesan Catholics, such as Bishop Emeritus Arthur J. Serratelli and Father David Pickens, pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Parsippany, N.J.
