About 100 faithful gathered at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Rockaway, N.J., on Oct. 10 for a prayerful Rosary Rally honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary during the Month of the Holy Rosary.
The gathering brought together parishioners from Sacred Heart of Jesus and neighboring parishes, including St. Cecilia, also in Rockaway; St. Peter the Apostle in Parsippany, N.J. St. Joseph in Lincoln Park, N.J., and Our Lady of Mercy in the Whippany neighborhood of Hanover Township, N.J.
Officers and members of the Diocesan Commission for Catholic Filipino Ministries (DCCFM)also participated, reflecting a beautiful spirit of unity, faith, and devotion to the Blessed Mother.
The rally was led by Deacon Elmer Maximo, president of DCCFM, with Maryann Lim-Atienza as this year’s rosary captain. The faithful prayerfully meditated on all four sets of mysteries of the rosary—the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious—offering prayers for the protection, dignity, and respect of every human life, from conception to natural death.
After the rally, participants gathered for a lunch reception and fellowship, sharing food, friendship, and the joy of belonging to one community of faith. The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen bonds among parishioners, neighboring Catholic communities, and DCCFM members.
The faithful concluded the day, renewed in their devotion to Our Blessed Mother and strengthened in their commitment to live and share the Gospel of Life.
