Polish-born priest installed as pastor of Long Valley parish

Father Michal Szwarc was installed as pastor of St. Luke Parish in the Long Valley neighborhood of Washington Township by Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney during a Mass on Sept. 21.

Bishop Sweeney named the Polish-born Father Szwarc as St. Luke’s admin-istrator on Oct. 2 last year. He joined the Paterson Diocese in 2014. Bishop Emeritus Arthur J. Serratelli ordained him a priest in 2016.

Father Szwarc previously served at Good Shepherd Parish in Andover and Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham Township.
