The Don Bosco Council 7784 in Newton collected more than 6,000 diapers and 10,000 baby wipes during its annual diaper drive.
These essential supplies have been distributed among several charities and nonprofits in Sussex County, including Today’s Choice Women’s Center, Birth Haven, Project Self-Sufficiency, and Norwescap, making a significant impact on families in need.
The annual diaper drive, aims to support local families facing financial hardship by providing them with basic necessities. The drive is a cornerstone of the council’s volunteer efforts.
This year’s large collection is a testament to the generosity and community spirit of St. Joseph Parish in Newton, Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Branchville, and Good Shepherd Parish in Andover.
In addition to the diaper drive, the Don Bosco Council continues to support various nonprofits in Newton through volunteer work, fundraising, and donations.
These partnerships are vital in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations and enhancing the quality of life for residents. Every small act of kindness contributes to creating a significant positive impact on the community. The knights are guided by the saying, “Where there’s a need, there’s a Knight.”
