Eighth-grade algebra students at Holy Spirit School in Pequannock came in 13th out of 77 schools in the Catholic Math League, a national math competition, this year. The contest consisted of four 30-minute tests, which students took in November, December, January, and March. The top three students from Holy Spirit were Alyssa Lo, Daniel Hanabergh, and Philip Coniglio. Lo scored in the top 10 in the country out of over 900 students in the national results. The school placed first against other Catholic schools in the New Jersey and New York region. Lo placed first, and Hanabergh placed third out of 78 students in overall regional results.
