Holy Spirit School in Pequannock, N.J., honored and remembered the brave men and women who have selflessly served the United States both at home and abroad during a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11.
Students, teachers, parents, and guests filled the gym. They welcomed members from American Legion Post 450, including Dennis Porpora, Daniel Boyle, Pat McKevor, and Morris County American Legion Vice Commander Dominick Sabol Sr. The ceremony began with a prayer of gratitude for all who serve or have served and a moment of silence for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Filippini Sister Marie Antonelli, principal of Holy Spirit School, spoke about the importance of Veterans Day. She reminded students that when they see men and women in military uniform, they should express gratitude and remember the many freedoms and liberties that we enjoy as Americans.
