Bishop Emeritus assists in live nativity

Bishop Emeritus Arthur J. Serratelli, who serves St. Rose of Lima Parish in East Hanover, helped host the parish’s live nativity on Dec. 8.

The event enabled the children to immerse themselves in the biblical story of Jesus’ birth, bringing the Gospel to life in a memorable way.

The nativity featured a camel, donkey, sheep, and goats alongside children dressed as shepherds, capturing the meaning of the Christmas season. Children enjoyed interacting with the animals, giving them a hands-on connection to the story.

“Bishop Serratelli even took on the challenge of managing a particularly stubborn donkey. Though it wasn’t an easy task, he handled it with grace and skill — no doubt drawing on his wealth of experience navigating challenging situations over the years,” said Father Matthew Kranc, St. Rose’s pastor.
