Jefferson parish celebrates once-doubting St. Thomas with patronal feast

On June 27, Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney visited St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in the Oak Ridge neighborhood of Jefferson Township, N.J., to celebrate Mass for the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, the parish’s patron saint, before the actual feast day on July 3.

Father Benjamin Williams, pastor of St. Thomas and St. John Vianney Parish in the Stockholm neighborhood of Hardyston, N.J., concelebrated the Mass with Bishop Sweeney.

St. Thomas was one of the original 12 Apostles of Christ. According to EWTN Global Catholic Network, he is held up as an example of faith in our Lord despite his pursuit of certainty and his doubts.
