In this retreat we will trace our own journey of faith by engaging in “spiritual autobiography.” Many writers throughout history have described their personal quest for the transcendent. And they discovered how this quest was a matter of first losing, and then finding, themselves. Writers such as Saint Augustine, C.S. Lewis, Malcolm X, Anne Rice, Black Elk, and Barbara Ehrenreich, have left their stories as models for spiritual exploration. Our discussion of these stories will help to shed light onto our own journey and how we have found union with God.
