St. Philip Prep creates world of pure imagination with ‘Willy Wonka Jr.’

St. Philip Preparatory School in Clifton recently presented the musical “Willy Wonka Jr.” based on the book, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. Eighth-grade teacher Judith Banya directed the 90-minute production. Sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders appeared in starring roles and worked behind the scenes. Soraya Parker played Willy Wonka/Candy Man, while Martin Uy portrayed Charlie Bucket. The pre-k3 to eighth grade school presents a musical every year.
