Deacon Ronald Romano, 80, former parish music director

A funeral Mass was held in St. Francis Church in Hackensack for Deacon Ronald Romano, a retired deacon of the Paterson Diocese. He died on May 19. He was 80.

Before retirement, Deacon Romano worked for many years as music director of St. Joseph Parish in Paterson, where he was ordained a deacon. He lived in Hasbrouck Heights and formerly was from Hackensack.

Deacon Romano was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Martha Romano. He is survived by his brother, Joseph, and his wife, Sandra; his sister, Virginia D’Elia; and nephews, great-nephews, and a grand-niece.
