St. Cabrini Shrine pilgrimage filled with prayer, discussion for Clifton parishioners

Sacred Heart Parish in Clifton on Oct. 14 organized a bus pilgrimage for about 40 parishioners to the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Shrine in Manhattan, N.Y. Many immigrants and the faithful are devoted to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the first American saint — originally from Italy.

“We had a wonderful time together, filled with conversations, prayers, and discussions about the life and legacy of this great saint,” said Father Krzysztof Slimak, Sacred Heart’s parochial vicar and chaplain at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, who led the pilgrimage. “It was a blessed day of reflection, fellowship, and deepened faith.”
