Pope John provides 115 families in need with Thanksgiving meals

Nov. 25 was the last day of the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive at Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta. That day, Pope John seniors delivered the food the school community collected to local families in need for Thanksgiving after the donations were blessed at Mass.

With help from local food pantries, the turkeys, baskets of food, and pies were delivered to families’ homes. The Pope John community provided 115 families with full Thanksgiving meals.

The leftover turkeys and other food items were donated to Straight and Narrow in Paterson, which helps people recover from addiction. Straight and Narrow is part of Catholic Charities of the Paterson Diocese.
